These changes are initially backed up over the LAN/WAN onto a SAS disk cache for industry best backup times.
This data is then migrated to an on-line full copy of all valid data and versions in the environment. The on-line copy is stored on the media best suited to a company's RTO requirements.
Dedup is performed automatically both on the target side and the source side for the best savings of storage.
Files remain on the SAS disk which is sized for 3 to 7 days of changes to optimize access to active/most recent versions of data for faster restores.
The active version storage can be populated at backup time or after backups have completed.
